If you love both reds and fuller-bodied rosés, Tavel is an incredibly exciting appellation because it produces wines that fall all across this spectrum. For instance, our newest Tavel from Gaël Petit could be considered a light red, while our longest-running Tavel from Château de Trinquevedel is without a doubt a rosé.
      Blending mostly Grenache with a little bit of Clairette, Syrah, Cinsault, and a splash of Mourvèdre and Bourboulenc, Trinquevedel’s rosé is a serious and complex beauty. Notes of red berries, orange zest, and spice swirl in a frame that is medium-bodied thanks, in large part, to the sunny terroir and the soil’s quintessential rounded river stones known as galets roulés.
      The wine is almost a course unto itself, but if you are looking for a pairing, you can’t go wrong with any kind of Provençal dish. Georgeanne Brennan created this Provençal chicken with olives recipe for our Côtes du Rhône blend, but it’s just as dreamy with Trinquevedel’s Tavel, too.
